1. Michael Jordan

Years ago the best basketball player in the world. Nowadays businessman, multimillionaire, and philanthropist. See for yourself how howling success he would have missed if he had doubted himself when he had been kicked out of the basketball school team. In the beginning, he came back home and was crying all night. But when he woke up in the morning, he set a goal: become the best basketball player not only in his team but on the basketball court! During holidays, he asked a coach of the school team to help him, every day he woke up at six and went to the court and trained. What about the legendary number 23? He got it because he was two times worse than his brother who had the number 45. When Michael was young, he couldn’t afford the cheapest bike and after years of hard work – he was buying the most luxurious cars in the world, especially Ferrari.

I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.”. Michael Jordan

I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”.

2. Arnold Schwarzenegger

He was born when there wasn’t the Internet, YouTube, personal trainers, calorie counter apps and modern gyms. Even though, till now his body in peak form is considered to be the ideal for bodybuilders and his training advice is still used. He lived in very hard times, he often had to beg or work very hard in a glass factory or sawmill. His family was convinced that he wouldn’t achieve anything because he preferred sport to science. He went to vocational school and after lessons, he was going to work out at the gym. Once, he even broke up to the gym to do the training when it was closed. Arnold’s inspiration was Reg Park who lifted out of poverty and achieved success in bodybuilding and acting. As we know, he repeated his success. After school, to escape from home, he joined the army. Once, he wanted to take part in a bodybuilding contest, he had been working hard in the military base but he didn’t get the leave of absence.  Did he resign from his goal? No, he escaped and won the contest! If he had chickened out, he would have missed 1st place that changed his life forever! When he came back to military camp, firstly he got the punishment – he had been locked in solitary confinement, but when everyone got to know about his success – he was allowed to train 4 hours a day.

You can have results or excuses. Never both

3. J.K. Rowling

After studies that she had attended under pressure from her parents, she worked as a secretary in several companies. She wasn’t good at it so she moved out from Great Britain to Portugal when she worked as an English teacher. She’d written a few writings but no one wanted to publish it. Then, she started to write Harry Potter while being on a train. Soon after her mother died, that’s why she created the main character an orphan. At this point, we can already see that any sad event wasn’t able to discourage her from achieving her goal. Before “Harry Potter” was famous, the book had been rejected by 12 publishing companies! But it didn’t dishearten the writer, she was still looking for someone and at last, a small publishing house decided to launch her book, but under the condition that she signs it as J.K Rowling. It concealed the fact that she’s a woman! If the writer had given up because of failures and negative comments, she wouldn’t be nowadays a millionaire and one of the most respected writers in the world. She wouldn’t do what she loves and she wouldn’t make her dreams come true.

It’s impossible to live without failing at something… unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default

Each of these people experienced the same: Others didn’t believe in them. Many times they heard unfavorable comments and their relatives wrote them off. They succeeded only because they didn’t doubt themselves and they began to work even harder . So, what are you waiting for?
