We all know: to be the best, you must learn from the best. So perhaps it’s worth listening to a man who has broken 26 world records, speaks 10 languages, can hold his breath for 10 minutes – and loves swimming naked beneath thick ice. Of course, he has many more achievements, but what interests us is: how did he do it?
The greatest influence on his success was his discipline, perseverance, and unwavering commitment. Like everyone, he had to endure tough times – such as the suicide of his wife or being bullied at school.
He developed his own breathing technique, now known worldwide as the WHM (Wim Hof Method). Its aim is to increase physical endurance, boost energy levels, reduce stress, and prevent illness. Wim Hof is now over 60 years old – and it seems his method really works.
Brief Description of the WHM:
- Sit comfortably with your back straight.
- Take 30 quick breaths: inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth.
- After the 30 breaths, take a deep breath and hold it for as long as you can.
- When you need to breathe in, inhale deeply and hold your breath again for 10 seconds.
- Repeat this process as often as you like.
From a Kundalini perspective, this exercise opens your airways and activates your energy center.
You’ll feel better immediately. “We can do more than we think. It’s a belief system I adopted, and it became my motto: There’s more than meets the eye. And if you’re not ready to experience something new, you’ll never reach your full potential.” – Wim Hof
