Matt Busby was the greatest coaching star of the 1950s and 1960s. In 1958, the Manchester United team had an aircraft crash in Munich, where many players died. In spite of that, Matt Busby led Manchester United to winning the National Cup in 1968. For approximately 26 years, Sir Alex Ferguson has been leading the team. He and his team won an incredible number of titles during this time and he can be considered as one of the absolutely outstanding coaches in football history. Since then, the club has got less luck with the selection of its coaches.
